Bio
Kirk Madsen was born and raised in Orem, Utah where he enjoyed hiking, camping, sports, billiards and drinking a healthy dose of Dr. Pepper daily. In his junior high and high school studies he developed a keen interest in art and from this grew a passion and a love for all the arts. Throughout the 1990’s Kirk was offered several freelance illustration jobs and began pursuing illustration as a career.
Kirk studied Illustration at Utah Valley University under Perry Stewart and Will Terry; spending his time sharpening his painting and drawing skills while developing his own unique style and look. He graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Arts and Visual Communications in 2009.
Kirk has a range of skills utilizing both traditional and digital media and has done illustrations for a variety of clients from essential oil companies to plumbing businesses. With the completion of his degree in Illustration, Kirk is continuing to pursue his dream of illustrating children’s books and editorial illustration while spending plenty of time singing and dancing with his little girls.
